The Signature
Yesterday the Treasury Department ended a 165-year tradition. You don't break it to celebrate a birthday. You break it to mark a transition.
Every piece of US paper currency since 1861 has carried the Treasurer's signature. Every administration. Every war. Every crisis. 165 years.
Yesterday the Treasury Department ended that tradition. Trump's signature will added alongside the Treasurer's on American currency. First sitting president to sign US money in the history of the republic. First $100 bills print in June.
Bessent called it "the most powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country."
You don't break a 165-year convention to celebrate a birthday. You break it to mark a transition.
And last night, the White House posted a video. Reversed audio: "Exciting announcement tomorrow."
Could be an interesting day.
The Signature and the Raid
Six days before the Treasury put a sitting president's name on American currency for the first time in history, French financial prosecutors raided the Paris offices of Edmond de Rothschild.
The target: Fabrice Aidan. Former UN diplomat. Worked at Edmond de Rothschild from 2014 to 2016. His name appeared in more than 200 DOJ documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein. Emails show Aidan sent UN Security Council briefings to Epstein between 2010 and 2016. Confidential documents from inside the United Nations to a convicted sex offender with financial ties to one of the oldest banking names in Europe.
Ariane de Rothschild, the bank's chief executive, was present during the search.
Six days later, the President's name goes on the dollar.
The old money's gatekeepers get searched. The new money gets signed. Same week. You decide what that means.
The Follow-Through
Yesterday in The Fourth Level we mapped the dawn meeting in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan. Four foreign ministers before sunrise. Not for a ceasefire. For a transition.
Today we got the proof.
Trump revealed it at the Cabinet meeting. Iran's incoming leadership sent 10 oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. Eight first. Then two more. Under Pakistani flag.
"To show you the fact that we're real and solid and we're there."
Ground sources had this before Trump confirmed it. The factions Trump has been working with, what we called the "fourth level," they sealed it. First it was eight. Then ten. The tankers aren't about oil. They're about proving the new leadership can deliver. That the transition works. That Hormuz functions under new management.
Malaysia's prime minister confirmed the same day that Iran granted Malaysian vessels early clearance through Hormuz. The blockade exists for cameras. Commerce is already moving for the countries that matter.
Bessent sat at that same Cabinet meeting and said it.
"Democrats underestimate the will of the American people. Short-term volatility for 50 years of safety that we are going to have on the other side of this."
The man who just put the President's name on American currency. Telling you the timeframe. Not a quarter. Not a cycle. Fifty years.
Inside Iraq
All 88 to 90 Iranian terrorist cells that infiltrated Iraq in recent weeks have been eliminated. Ground sources in Baghdad confirmed it last night. The operation used booby-trapped supply drops targeting IRGC ground forces. Same signature as the Lebanon pager operation. The last remaining Iranian military infrastructure inside Iraq is gone.
Read that again. The militia network that reached into Iraqi politics for two decades. The cells that were supposed to destabilize the country during the war. Eliminated. While parliament sat down and started talking about the Hydrocarbon Law.
A parliament member said it on Iraqi television today. Passing the HCL will end the region's rebellion and guarantee the rights of providing provinces. Ground sources say the HCL is moving while the war is still active. Not after. During.
CBI analysts tracking monetary reform say Iraq is ready. The tone has shifted from if to when. Other ground channels are flagging unusual movement behind the scenes. Activity that can't be discussed openly. The kind of signals that precede structural changes.
PM Sudani filed a formal protest note to the US Embassy after the Habanaya military clinic bombing. Not a break in relations. A sovereign government putting on the record that it cooperates by choice, not submission. Iraq is asserting sovereignty at the exact moment the international community needs to see a stable, independent government. That's not accidental.
Baghdad operations command confirmed Thursday: the capital is safe and stable. Ground sources are framing this as a shift from crisis mode to development mode. With full sovereignty.
Those are the words the IMF, the World Bank, and the BIS need to hear before anything moves.
The Oil Machine
Brent at $107. WTI at $94 to $95. Iraq's budget breakeven sits around $70 a barrel. That's a $37 surplus on every barrel funding every reform, every corridor, every piece of infrastructure they need.
And they're not sitting on it. They're building.
The Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline through the Kurdistan region has a design capacity of 900,000 barrels per day. Current flows through various routes: 250,000 here, 500,000 there, 380,000 through another. New lines being planned through Syria and branching to Jordan. SOMO is actively advertising to carriers and buyers for routes through Turkey, Jordan, and Syria.
A government advisor confirmed it Thursday.
"Diversification of export outlets supports economic stability and enhances financial balance."
Iraq's ability to keep oil flowing through multiple corridors during a regional war proves the resilience the gatekeepers need to see.
This is what we documented in The $40.8 Billion Tell. Iraq spent 2025 accumulating $40.8 billion in US Treasury bonds. A 79% increase in twelve months. Long-term bonds. All denominated in the currency that just got a new signature. A country doesn't nearly double its position in US debt at a program rate unless it knows what the system it's buying into is becoming.
Non-oil revenues growing. Transit fees. International contracts. The private sector being positioned as the future backbone. Every piece of infrastructure that a managed real effective exchange rate adjustment requires is either built or building.
When prudent.
Where This Points
A sitting president's signature goes on American currency for the first time in 165 years. Six days after French prosecutors raid one of the oldest banking names in Europe over Epstein documents. Iran's new leadership moves 10 oil tankers through the strait to prove the transition works. Inside Iraq, the cells are eliminated, the HCL is moving, and the budget is running a $37 surplus on every barrel through pipelines that bypass every chokepoint Iran ever controlled.
The blocking mechanisms Part 2 traced are being dismantled. The machine Part 1 described is running. Everything the Architecture Series mapped is happening in the same 30-day window.
And the White House posted a video last night. "Exciting announcement tomorrow."
The signature isn't commemorative. It's a timestamp.
Still watching what today brings.
