Iran, Venezuela, Iraq, the US military, the cartel takedowns, the dismantling of the corruption networks, and the IQD - read separately, they are noise. Read against a monetary system being rebuilt and re-backed, they are one operation.

What Will the Iraqi Dinar Revalue At?

No one can promise a rate, and the numbers you see quoted come from history or from sellers. How to plan a number without getting sold one.

Nobody can promise you a rate. Not us, not a dealer, not a guru with a countdown clock. Anyone who quotes you a firm number is either reading history as if it were a forecast or trying to sell you something at that number. So instead of a promise, here is how to plan a number without getting sold one.

Plan for 1 to 1. One dinar, one dollar. That is the anchor we use and the one we would give a family member. If the rate comes higher, treat it as a blessing on top. But if you plan on the blessing, you will overreach, size your position on a fantasy, and set yourself up to be careless with money that has not arrived. Plan on 1 to 1, and every number above that is upside you did not need.

What that means in practice is simple, and it is for your eyes only. Take the total dinar you hold, read it at face value as dollars, and use that figure to plan quietly for yourself: how you would structure it, who you would speak to, what you would do first. A holder with 1,000,000 dinar plans as though 1,000,000 dollars is coming. Not because that is guaranteed, but because it is a sober, workable figure that keeps your decisions grounded. That number is your private working figure. It is not something you announce. When the time comes to build a banking relationship you present as someone expecting a significant sum, and you let the bank name its own thresholds rather than leading with a figure of your own. How to do that quietly and correctly is the whole point of our free guide, The Quiet Conversion.

Now the numbers you will see quoted, and why to set them aside. You will run into $3.22. That is not a forecast. It is the neighborhood the dinar traded in before 1990, before the Gulf War and decades of sanctions, and pointing at a pre-1990 rate as tomorrow's target is history dressed up as a prediction. You will also see the current official rate of roughly 1,300 dinars to the dollar. That is the program rate Iraq uses for its budget today, not the international rate a holder would realize. Neither number is your window.

The honest position is the one we hold on everything here: the repricing is the event that matters, the groundwork for it is visible in public record, and the exact rate, like the exact date, is not something anyone outside the room can hand you. Plan for 1 to 1, prepare properly, and let the number be what it is when it arrives.

The case for why the dinar is priced nowhere near the value coming for the region is laid out in a free, detailed guide, Iraq: The Case for Revaluation, free with a Reset Intelligence account alongside The Quiet Conversion on the exchange side. The full history is in the book, Head of the Snake.

When a real number does arrive, it will come from one place, the CBI, so the cleanest way to hear it first is our free alert the moment the Central Bank of Iraq sets a new official rate.
