How Reset Intelligence collects, uses, and protects your personal data. Cookie, analytics, advertising, and member account practices.

Last updated: 19 April 2026

Reset Intelligence ("we", "us", "our") operates resetintelligence.com and publishes intelligence briefings, research reports, and educational content. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Who We Are

Reset Intelligence is the trading name of a sole-proprietor publishing business based in Queensland, Australia. The contact address for privacy matters is exit_fiat@resetintelligence.com.

2. What We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to deliver our products, operate our site, and measure the performance of our marketing. Specifically:

  • Account data: email address and optional name when you sign up for a free or paid membership.
  • Payment data: transactions are processed by Stripe (subscriptions) and Payhip (book sales). We do not see or store full card numbers. We retain transaction records including buyer email, product, amount, and timestamp.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, clicks, session duration, device type, approximate location at country/region level, referring URL.
  • Advertising identifiers: ad click IDs such as gclid (Google Ads), twclid (X Ads), and fbclid (Meta) when you arrive from a paid ad. These are stored in short-lived cookies on our domain.
  • Hashed identifiers: where required for advertising attribution, we hash email addresses with SHA-256 before transmission to advertising platforms. Raw email addresses are not shared with ad networks.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary: login session, member authentication, checkout state.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (GA4) measures site usage and conversion funnels. Cookies: _ga, _ga_*.
  • Advertising: Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags (_gcl_aw, _gcl_au), the X Ads Pixel, and the Amazon Attribution pixel. These let us measure which ads produced which outcomes and build lookalike audiences from existing customers.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies will not affect your ability to use the site or your membership.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To deliver memberships, briefings, and digital products you purchase.
  • To send newsletters and transactional emails (receipts, magic-link logins, service notices).
  • To measure the effectiveness of our advertising and optimise campaign performance. Where permitted, we may transmit hashed email addresses to Google Ads and X Ads to match our purchases and signups to prior ad clicks. This is known as Enhanced Conversions (Google) and the Conversions API (X).
  • To build Customer Match audiences for retargeting existing members, or to seed lookalike audiences to reach similar readers.
  • To detect fraud, abuse, and policy violations.

5. Legal Basis (for readers in the EU, UK, and similar jurisdictions)

  • Contract: to provide the products you subscribe to or purchase.
  • Legitimate interest: to measure marketing performance, secure our service, and communicate with members about our work.
  • Consent: where advertising cookies require it under applicable law, we ask for consent before they load.

6. Third Parties Who Process Your Data

We share data only with processors who help us run the service. Each has its own privacy commitments:

  • Ghost(Pro) / Ghost Foundation - membership and email platform
  • Mailgun - transactional and newsletter email delivery
  • Stripe - subscription and card payments
  • Payhip - book and digital product checkout
  • Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager) - measurement and advertising
  • X Corp - advertising and pixel measurement
  • Amazon Advertising (Amazon Attribution) - measurement for Amazon book links
  • Hetzner Online GmbH - infrastructure hosting

We do not sell personal data.

7. Data Retention

  • Membership and transaction records: retained for the life of your account plus seven years after closure, to meet tax and regulatory obligations.
  • Analytics data: two months in GA4 by default; aggregated performance reports retained longer.
  • Hashed advertising identifiers: retained only for the attribution window of the relevant ad platform (typically 90 days).

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on it

To exercise any of these rights, email exit_fiat@resetintelligence.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Security

We use TLS encryption in transit, access-controlled infrastructure, and hashed identifiers where the full value is not needed. No method of transmission is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when our practices change or when regulation requires. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
