The Multi-Currency Revaluation Event: IQD, VND, ZIM, and VES Explained
What happens when IQD, VND, ZIM, and VES revalue at once: the three exchange channels, the wealth infrastructure, and the deployment flow.
A multi-currency revaluation event is what happens when the trigger does not move one currency but several at once. IR-006 models the moment a holder of IQD, VND, ZIM, and VES sees all four positions revalue simultaneously, then asks what that does to the home currency the proceeds land in. The Iraqi dinar trades near 1,310 per US dollar today. The Vietnamese dong reference rate sat at 25,113 on 24 April. The Venezuelan bolivar crossed 400 per dollar in February 2026. This report covers what a simultaneous move means for exchange, deployment, and timing.
Three channels: Forex, specialty dealers, and private redemption
Three separate systems touch a currency revaluation, and confusing them is the most common mistake in this space. Forex is the public interbank market where the new rate prints on Bloomberg and Reuters the same hour a currency moves. Specialty dealers registered with the CFTC, including DinarAuthority, SafeDinar, and Sterling Currency Group, sold the physical notes to retail buyers at 10 to 20 percent spreads. The private redemption channel is the third: off Forex, off screen, routed through European Tier-1 desks and segregated collateral accounts, with reported rates above the public print. Confidence is graded medium.
The receiving infrastructure was already rebuilt
The wealth-management system has been staffed for exactly this volume. JPMorgan Private Client expanded into 53 Chase branches in September 2025 and announced 160 plus new advisory branches for 2026. Wells Fargo recorded its best advisor recruiting year in a decade, including a $3.1 billion team from JPMorgan. Cerulli Associates puts the Great Wealth Transfer at $124 trillion over 20 years. A simultaneous redemption flow from dinar, dong, zim, and bolivar holders is volume the retail counter cannot process and the private-wealth arms were built to absorb.
What gets bid up, and what costs nothing now
The deployment flow has a consistent shape. Gold sits in front, with JPMorgan raising its target to $6,300 per ounce in February 2026 and allocated bullion carrying a zero percent Basel III risk weight. Tier 1 trust services in Nevada and South Dakota, Vietnam and Turkey property, Singapore allocated storage, and El Salvador real estate absorb the rest. The pre-event action that costs nothing is the documentation packet: a current passport, original dealer receipts, wire confirmations, a certified inventory, and a clean provenance chain. Documentation gates the channel, not connections.
