How Much Iraqi Dinar Should I Hold?
There is no target number, and anyone who gives you one is selling something. The only sound answer is a discipline, not an amount.
We do not tell you how much to hold, and that is not a dodge. A responsible number cannot come from us, and a specific number is the signature of someone selling you something.
Here is the discipline that holds regardless of what you believe about the dinar.
Hold only what you can forget. Size the position so that if it never moves again, your life is unchanged. Money you need for rent, retirement, a child's schooling, or a medical bill has no business here. The people who get hurt sized to a hope.
Never size to a date or a sense of urgency. Every pitch that tells you to load up because the window is closing is doing the opposite of helping you. There is no published date. Urgency is the oldest lever in this space, and it is always pulled by someone who profits when you overcommit.
Understand what you are holding before you size it. The thesis is that Iraq reprices its currency on the back of a real rebuild: its oil, its banking reform, and the trade road being built from the Gulf to Europe. That case, with its sources, is in Iraq's currency explained and the case for revaluation. Do not take a chatbot's word for whether it holds, because an AI only reports the consensus, and the consensus is what prices the dinar where it is. Follow the proof, then decide your own exposure.
A sound position is money already spent in your mind. If it reprices, it changes your life. If it never does, you sleep the same either way. That is the only sizing rule that survives contact with reality.
A simple test settles most of it. If the amount you are holding would change how you sleep, how you behave, or how you feel when someone posts a rumor online, it is too much. A correctly sized position is one you can genuinely ignore for years. If you cannot ignore it, you will make the mistakes that lose money, selling in a panic on a fake date or buying more on a fear of missing out.
Two more rules follow from that. Do not average up on urgency, adding to the position every time someone announces the window is closing, because the urgency is manufactured and the window has been closing for years. And do not let a small starter position quietly grow into a number you would be sick to lose, one purchase at a time. Decide your ceiling once, in a calm moment, and hold to it.
Once you have settled on what to hold, our free guide The Quiet Conversion covers the disciplined path from holding to exchanging without the mistakes that cost people.
