Trump's Envoy Is Back in Baghdad
Trump's call, his envoy back in Baghdad, ExxonMobil in the room, Iraq's airspace notice, and $2.5 trillion wiped off Wall Street.
Friday, November 6. 2 days after America voted, Trump picked up the phone to Baghdad.
On Thursday he spoke with Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi about regional developments and, in the words of al-Zaidi's office, "prospects for the coming period." About an hour later his envoy, Tom Barrack, was sitting in al-Zaidi's office. Before the day was out Barrack had also seen the head of Iraq's judiciary, and an American oil major had been in the same building.
Today: Trump's envoy in Baghdad, ExxonMobil and the pipeline, Iraq's airspace notice, what Washington did after the vote, the midterm count, the market crash, Saturday's cabinet session, and the rest of the week.
